From skin care to fitness, follow our tips for getting prom-ready in a flash!
Get fresher, brighter skin
•Start an exfoliation regimen to remove dead skin cells. You’ll stimulate newer, fresher cells to the surface, and make-up will go on smoother on prom day. We recommend Ready, Set, Scrub! 3-5 times a week for your freshest face ever.
•The proper amount of moisture will balance skin, keeping breakouts away while eliminating any dry patches. If your skin is more oily, we recommend Welcome Matte SPF15 for moisture that keeps shine away. For an illuminating boost, try Brighten Up SPF15 for hydration and a touch of shine in one!
Get fit
Exercise should be a part of your lifestyle — but if it isn’t, there’s still time to ease into a routine that gets that heart rate up 3 to 4 times a week!
•Take a brisk walk outside with a friend for at least 30 minutes, or try an easy, light-paced jog once or twice a week.
•Mix in some free weights: use a weight amount that stimulates a slight burning sensation in the muscle after 8 to 12 reps so you know it’s working.
•Change it up! Work your arms one day, legs the next, and abs another day to help tired muscles recover without taking a day off.
Get healthy
Yes, it’s true: an improper diet can affect everything from how you feel to how your dress fits! But not eating isn’t an option, either. Find some balance with healthy snacks that keep you satisfied.
Take 5 minutes before going to bed (or in the morning before heading out) to put together some healthy snacks that will keep you going throughout the day.
•Raw almonds, walnuts, and sunflower seeds are all around good snacks that fill you up — and are great for skin!
•Apples are high in fiber and perfectly portable for a quick snack between classes.
•When hunger pangs hit, but a vending machine is your only option, select a small bag of pretzels. They can satisfy your crunch craving while filling your belly (without filling you out).

It was drilled into your head last summer and the summer before… (and the one before that one too…) but come denim cut-off season, the dangers of tanning fleet from your mind and you have one mission – MUST tan pasty skin!!! You may truly believe the orange fake glow is the way to go – but it is more important than ever to be sun smart!
It doesn’t matter whether you are under the sun or under a tanning bed – tanning beds are NOT a safer option! If you’re under 30 and use a tanning bed, your risk of skin cancer jumps by 30%! It also causes pre-mature aging – want to look 60-years-old and leathery when you’re 25? No thanks!
Despite what you may have heard, sun exposure also does NOT help clear breakouts, but in fact, worsen and intensify your chances of long-term scarring and hyperpigmentation (dark spots). It may feel like your breakouts are drying out after a day in the sun, you’re actually triggering future instances of breakouts – there’s an increase in skin cells when skin is exposed to UV light, and this further clogs follicle openings, which leads to the development of breakout bacteria.
If you think your sun exposure is minimum, or just seasonal, SPF should be as much a part of your routine as cleansing. Leaving SPF out of your skin care routine now means premature skin issues in the future, including wrinkles and dark spots.
