Clean Start™ FITES for empowerment for girls!

Clean Start™ are proud to have teamed up with Fulham Football Club Foundation’s ‘Aspire to Move’ girls project for an interactive and motivational day with workshops dedicated to learning more about the skin care industry and the women behind it.
Aspire 2 Move is an initiative aimed at engaging young women aged 12-21. The project is jointly funded by the Premier League/PFA Community Fund and Sport England. The aim of the project is to provide activities in the evenings to girls in three boroughs of London – Hammersmith & Fulham, Kingston & Merton.
Clean Start was keen to support the Foundation’s Aspire To Move programme to help empower young women within their communities to become whoever they want to be. This activity forms part of Dermalogica recent launch campaign FITE (Financial Independence Through Entrepreneurship) a philanthropic initiative in partnership with Kiva.org that helps to empower 25,000 women to start or grown their own business across the globe.
On Friday the 25th February 2011, –over 30 girls aged between 12 -17 were invited to Dermalogica HQ to partake in a day of interactive workshops such as, learning basic massage techniques, peeking into the life of a skin therapist, and learning about their skin. As well as interactive workshops the day also included a career talk and inspirational speech from successful women from all backgrounds.
These sessions aimed to educate those that took part and provide them with an insight into potential career paths and how they can pursue them.
Clean Start™ are incredibly proud to be a part of such an important initiative that will help these young women gain self-esteem, confidence and a focus for their future. Therefore empowering everyone around them.

Fulham football club foundation team up with Clean Start!

On Tuesday 10th August girls from Fulham Football Club Foundation’s ‘Aspire 2 Move’ programme which is funded by the Premier League and Sport England were given the chance to take part in an interactive skin care evening with skin care specialists from Clean Start by Dermalogica, thanks to a new partnership between the Foundation and skin care brand.
15 young women attended the first ‘Aspire to Move Girls Night’ at the Brunswick Club in Fulham, taking part in skincare workshops using products by Clean Start specially designed for teenagers and young women, therefore fits with the Aspire 2 Move programme which aims to get young women aged 12-21 physically active and living healthy lifestyles, through dance, sport and issue based workshops.
Jen Emeny, Social Inclusion Coordinator said “These skin care evenings are a great way to attract new young women to our sessions and for them to meet new people. With today’s pressure for young girls to fit into stereotypes that they see in magazines, the Clean Start sessions are a refreshing change; encouraging young women to be themselves and promoting healthy lifestyles as opposed to placing importance upon image. I have already seen a massive increase in these girls confidence and self-esteem.
Clean Start are very proud to be part of such a fantastic initiative, working alongside the Aspire to Move team and with some very inspirational young people and believe the concepts of ‘beauty’, ‘pampering’ and ‘indulgence’ are outdated and alienating – particularly to young women, yet are too commonly associated with skincare. We firmly believe that health, wellness and real results are what counts, and that is precisely what Aspire to Move delivers within the community, along with a big dose of fun!
The ’Aspire to Move girls nights in association with Clean Start are going on tour throughout August at different venues across Kingston and Merton. All young women aged 12-21 are invited to attend the remaining sessions:
Wednesday 25th August 6-8pm
Chessington Community College, Kingston, KT9 2JS
Thursday 26th August 6-8pm
Pollards Hill Youth Centre, Merton, CR4 1LT

look who's top of the class!

Wash Off received BEST CLEANSER award by Irish magazine Image with 85% of the votes!
Seems that it’s popular with the guys too, according to Michelle Casey, who says she’s surprised at the number of boys going into the salon to look for the product. We aren’t that surprised as it works wonders on regulating oily skin and banishing breakouts. With a great formula and easy-to-use packaging it appeals to all teens out there!
